Sharing the joy that my animals bring into my life with others allows me to honor God, because it is He who placed this calling and passion on my heart.
The seed was planted in my heart in 2015 while my mother was in hospice care. Before she passed away I experienced firsthand the comfort that animals can bring during the most difficult times. A therapy dog visited her room, and that simple interaction left a lasting impression on me. After her passing, I felt a strong pull toward donkeys and an urgency to one day have them as part of my life, even though I didn't fully understand why at the time. I say, sometimes the Lord speaks to you and you have the urgency to listen, so here I am now with six donkeys
My husband has always been supportive of my passion, I couldn’t do this without him.
In 2017, we purchased my first two donkeys, and from that moment, something began growing in my heart. This vision has been a slow burn over many years—built with prayer, patience, and purpose. My husband and I have continued making improvements to our farm while preparing for the dream and the calling to become a reality.
The seed was planted in my heart in 2015
While the dream was always there, it wasn't the right season. Today, I find myself at a place in life where I can finally devote my time, energy, and heart to this calling and begin turning that long-held vision into reality.
Some people may not understand the connection we may have with Donkeys. While we are not called to worship animals, I have always felt that donkeys hold a special place in God's story. The Bible specifically tells us that a donkey carried our Savior, and that has always been meaningful to me. One of the reasons I was drawn to donkeys is because they remind me of humility, service, and faithfulness. Having donkeys in my backyard often feels like having a small piece of heaven right outside my door.
